Ukemi: The Art of Falling and Connection
This class series will explore the fundamental principles of ukemi, the art of receiving a technique. Far from simply being about falling safely, ukemi is the practice of maintaining a connection with your partner, understanding the flow of a technique, and protecting your body in dynamic situations.

 We will cover:

·         Basic Rolls and Falls: Learn the proper mechanics for forward rolls (mae ukemi), backward rolls (ushiro ukemi), and side falls (yoko ukemi) to protect your head, neck, and spine.

·         Connecting with Nage: Develop sensitivity to your partner's movements (nage) and learn to receive techniques in a way that is soft, fluid, and safe for both of you.

·         The Principles of Relaxation and Centering: Discover how to use a relaxed body and a strong center to absorb impact and redirect force.

·         Ukemi in Practice: Apply these principles to common Aikido techniques, enhancing your understanding of timing, distance, and the core philosophy of blending.

This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners seeking a solid foundation to experienced practitioners wanting to refine their understanding of this crucial aspect of Aikido.

Join us to develop a more resilient body, a more responsive mind, and a deeper connection to your training.
