Frank Doran Sensei

November 20, 1932 – November 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Doran on November 3, 2026. He was at home, at peace, in the presence of his beloved wife and family.

He was more than just our founder or teacher. He was family. He left the world a better place having been here.

A public memorial service will be held in the afternoon on Saturday, December 5th at Aikido West dojo. The morning of the same day, there will be an Aikido class at 10:00am, free and open to all who would like to participate. More details will be announced as the date approaches.

Please respect his family’s need for privacy at this time. You can direct messages to Aikido West via email at doran@aikido-west.org
